Join the Celebration! Use your gifts and talents to tell the story of African American history as we celebrate who God created us to be. Volunteer for one or more of the following.
Poetry Tribute
Write a poem that is a tribute to Mother Africa. Turn it in to Sister Deloris or Sister Shenetta by February 15. One or two will be selected for reading on February 22.
Share Memories
Share a memory of what life was like when “we were colored.” It may be about education, games you played, church, home life, or other topics. Contact Sister Deloris by February 9. Testimonies will be given on February 15.
The African American History Challenge
Get a copy of the questions from a member of the Ministries and Programs Planning Team. Work with the members of your family or form a group of your friends (community) and work together. All entries are due before service begins on Sunday, February 15. If there is a tie, the earliest received will be declared the winner. Turn it in to Sister Deloris Rentz or Sister Shenetta Green.
